Take Stock in Children Application Process

Who is eligible to apply?

The Pasco Education Foundation’s TSIC Program’s applications for 2023-2024 are currently open to 9th and 10th grade students attending one of the following school options in Pasco County: public school, one of Florida Department of Education’s approved Schools of Choice in Florida, or school through Florida’s Family Empowerment Scholarship program. The TSIC application may open to 8th grade students at the end of this school year, if space remains available.

Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and meet income eligibility requirements

Rolling Admissions: Completed applications will be reviewed continuously this year, with admission to the program occurring throughout the school year until all open spots are filled. The sooner you complete your application, the sooner it will be reviewed.

What are the steps?

The student and the parent/guardian must complete the application and submit income verification. Please take care when completing the application form, and ensure you complete all the sections and fields of the application. Even fields in the online form not marked required with an asterisk are important in application review. The student and parent/guardian statement sections are important to the application review, please put time and effort into these statements and ensure it is the student who writes the student statement.

What is the review & selection process?

Application Review: Applications are reviewed by a selection committee in groups based on the date the application is completed. The top-scoring applications in that group will move to the next stage of the application process, which is the TSIC information workshop. The applicant’s school may also be contacted for references.

TSIC Information Workshop: Applicants selected to move to the next stage of the process will be invited to attend a required TSIC Information Workshop (which also serves as an interview) and prompted to submit any further required documentation, if needed.

Final Selection & Signing of the TSIC Participation Agreement: A final review of applicants who attended the information workshop is completed and the selected applicants are then be sent an offer to participate in the TSIC program, which includes signing a TSIC Participation Agreement by a specified deadline. Once the agreement is reviewed and signed, TSIC services begin!

How applicants are notified as they move through the application process: All status updates on the student’s application will be communicated directly from TSIC staff via email from their Pasco Education Foundation email account and/or our office phone number (813-794-2134). TSIC also communicates application status updates with the student’s school; the school’s Career Specialist or Guidance Counselor may reach out to assist with communication to the student and parent/guardian.

This is for the Pasco Education Foundation’s TSIC Program. Space is limited; not all who apply will be selected. Please contact the TSIC Program Director with any questions.
