Take Stock in Children
Take Stock in Children Mission
Take Stock in Children’s mission is to help low-income children maintain good grades and behavior, graduate from high school, attend college, and become productive citizens. A Take Stock in Children scholarship offers each child a multi-year commitment providing a support system a college tuition scholarship, a volunteer mentor to motivate and guide the student, and a student advocate to support academic goals and offer college/career counseling.

Invest Your Time, Become a Mentor
Take Stock in Children’s income-challenged students have the opportunity to earn up to a four year college education. According to their agreement, scholars must maintain good grades, attendance, demonstrate good behavior and meet with a mentor on a regular basis! Our students range from 9th grade to 12th grade.
This is a school-based mentor program meaning that the majority of visits are at the student’s school (you will have an option of school choices on the application for your convenience) Sessions typically will last about 40 minutes, 3 – 4 times per month during the school year.

First-time TSIC mentors must attend a Mentor 101 training prior to being introduced to the scholar. Here is a list of upcoming mentor trainings.
