Volunteer

There are many opportunities to get involved with the Pasco Education Foundation. We are always looking for individuals and groups who are interested in sharing their time and talent to help us advance student achievement.

Position TitleScholarship Judge
Position Description: Evaluate PDF applications of students for our Senior Scholarship Program or Employee Scholarship Program
Time Commitment: max. 2 hours judging
Location: Anywhere our volunteer can access email to receive PDF files, print, read, rate and email results back to Foundation staff
Length of Commitment: 2 weeks of correspondence

Position Title: Event Volunteer
Position Description
: Volunteer at one of our special events- Cinderella Ball, Golf Tournament, Education Celebration, Excellence in Academics, Building the Dream
Time Commitment: One day
Location: Various locations across Pasco County
Length of Commitment: no minimum
When Needed: Ongoing

Position Title: Community Ambassador
Position Description: Identify speaking opportunities for the Foundation to promote its mission and gain awareness, volunteers and/or donors. Represent the Foundation at community-wide events such as the Kumquat Festival, Community Awareness Fairs, etc.
Time Commitment: maximum of one 4-hour shift per month
Location: Locations across Pasco county
Length of Commitment: One calendar year
When Needed: Ongoing need
Family Friendly: Yes
Special Skills: Outgoing personality, large personal/community or professional networks (personal, professional, civic, etc)

Position Title: Office Support
Position Description: Assist staff and our Land O’ Lakes office with filing, mailing, clerical work and computer work as needed.
Time Commitment: No minimum
Location: Foundation office, Land O’ Lakes, FL
Length of Commitment: no minimum
When Needed: ongoing

Position Title: Take Stock in Children mentor
Position Description
: The role of a Take Stock in Children Mentor is to guide, encourage, and help student recipients of the Take Stock in Children scholarship to remain focused
on their long-term goal of a college education.
Time Commitment: 1 hour/week
Location: Any Pasco County high school
Length of Commitment: one school year (October-May)
When Needed: ongoing
Special Skills: 18 years of age or older, High School Graduate/GED, believe in the importance of education, an interest in helping young people, caring, open-minded, and non-judgmental with good common-sense.

Position Title: Foundation Committee member
Position Description
: Serve in an advisory role on one of our Foundation Committees: 
          Communications Committee
          Finance and Investment Committee
          Human Resource Committee
          Governance Committee
          Resource Development Committee
          Take Stock in Children Leadership Advisory Council

Time Commitment: Attend meeting one per month, correspond via email, other duties between meetings as needed
Location: Most meetings take place at the Foundation office in Land O’ Lakes
Length of Commitment: 1 year
When Needed: Ongoing
Special Skills: Professional skills/knowledge in committee area OR an interest in learning about one of the committee areas.

Position Description: Serve as a member of one of our Event Steering Committees, composed of Board members, Foundation staff and community volunteers:
          Welcome Back (August)
          Chuck Rushe Fall Golf Classic (October)
          Education Celebration (January)
          Cinderella Ball (February)
          Excellence in Academics Awards Ceremony (April) 
          Ticket to Broadway (April)
