Commissioner’s Business Recognition Awards (CBRA) Banquet
The District School Board of Pasco County and the Pasco Education Foundation are proud to recognize Saint Leo University and Wachovia as the 2005 nominees to the Commissioner of Education’s Business Recognition Awards Banquet in Orlando on April 14, 2005. Both Saint Leo University and Wachovia have donated time, money, and resources to the District School Board of Pasco County.
The Commissioner’s Business Recognition Awards (CBRA) Banquet highlights business partners of the year in each of Florida’s 67 counties.
Saint Leo University

Saint Leo University supports the employees and students of the District School Board of Pasco County by providing financial support for classroom grants, student and employee scholarships, and curriculum programs. The University annually hosts two of the major recognition events of the school system and generously allows staff to sit on various District committees and provide training to countless education professionals in the school system.
Wachovia Bank, N.A.
Education is a priority for Wachovia Bank. Throughout Wachovia's footprint, which covers Connecticut to Florida and west to Texas, life-changing resources, both financial and human are deployed to make a difference in students' lives. In Pasco County, the Wachovia/Sertoma Hearing Institute provides hearing te sts for over 16,000 1st and 6th graders. As a result, in 2004 alone over 800 students were discovered to have previously unknown hearing deficiencies, which is a life changing event. Not only did Wachovia provide the financial support but also hundreds of employee volunteer hours to help audiologists conduct the in-school hearing tests. Throughout each school year scores of Wachovia employees go into Pasco 2nd grade classes where they read recommended books, purchased and donated by Wachovia, to the children. Wachovia's support of the Pasco Education Foundation has helped deliver important activities such as the new annual Teacher Orientation Breakfast, the Education Celebration and program planning leadership.
